How do you create work-life-parenting balance in a Pandemic? (without ripping your hair out)

How have you been doing during the pandemic? Has your routine been shaken up? We are heading into month 3 of this quarantine/pandemic and if you too have also been feeling "all the feels" please know YOU ARE NOT ALONE!! There is no correct way that you should be feeling, or acting during this time. How you are feeling is valid. And it's okay, if you're not feeling okay right now. If you are feeling like there seems to be more to balance these days, you are not alone.

The first thing you need to know is that the idea of doing it all is old school. We are moving to a much better place and it is called balance and being. If you manage your feelings around the multitude of tasks and responsibilities that flash across your mind when you begin a new day, you will create a stronger happier you.

I get it...saying yes to a one-way ticket to Hawaii with no return right now can be mighty tempting when you have had it with kids, clients, negative naysayers and all the challenges that pile up like dirty laundry. We have all had that "take me away" moment. This is a great opportunity to use your "I Am" Affirmations such as " I Am capable of overcoming challenges!" Instead of "I Am overwhelmed". Be kind to yourself.

Balance is going back to your purpose, holding intention and inviting peace back into your brain. Balance includes being in the moment and only this moment. Balance is prioritizing. Balance is setting healthy boundaries. Balance is making sure to set "work" hours, and "me time" hours. Make sure you're carving out self care and self love time. Your mind and feelings of stress and anxiety are produced by worry about things not yet here. Make sure to breathe. Unclench your jaw and soften your shoulders (definitely not the time to create new knots as we still can't see our massage therapists yet!)

You can choose to enjoy your children’s smiling or naughty faces in this moment. You can choose to enjoy your pets in this moment. You can choose to breath and let go. Give yourself some credit for how far you have come and for all you have done up to this moment. Today is a new day with your beautiful name on it. And if you didn't get out of your p.j's today, or the kids haven't been bathed, and you haven't replied to all your emails yet - know that it is ok and you are still rockin' it; quarantine style!

Breath and be present. Let go, enjoy and open space for balance. The best is yet to come and you are right where you need to be!
